It’s been a productive year for afropop, and the popularity of the genre continues to grow worldwide. But while artistes like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy are getting lots of the global attention, there are artistes coming up who are showing loads of potential and promise.

One of such artistes is Oluwapopular who recently released his single titled “Remember”. The Crespin Beatz-produced banger features the services of Otega. The track, which is about the struggle and sacrifices involved in getting to the top, does not disappoint!
With his distinct and assuring vocals, Oluwapopular renders the first verse with emotion as he reminisces about his humble beginnings. When the boy broke, I remember/Wash-and-wear every December, he sings with gratitude for the life he lives.

Otega handles his verse with the expertise of a veteran, flexing his melodious voice and holding his own. Many things don sup/Days wey we no see chop/Days wey we come see chop, but no meat, he croons about the highs and lows of his past and how the highs were never high enough.
Oluwapopular is a prospect on the up-and-up, and it will be interesting to see what next he has up his sleeves. He already has some singles under his belt like “One Day” featuring Davolee.

We’ll be keeping an eye on him, and I’d suggest you do, too!
