NIGERIAN IDOL FINALE AS KINGDOM BATTLE FRANCIS FOR THE TOP PRIZE

Ayo Olumilua reports from the ringside

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, they say. Well, the final step of Nigerian Idol’s sixth season is upon us in all its splendor.

The finale episode will be brought to us on Sunday, 11 July 2021 live on DStv and GOtv. The finalists, Francis and Kingdom, will be vying for the opportunity of a lifetime.

Fans of the singing competition will get to witness who will emerge winner and walk away with a recording deal, a 6-song EP project (with music video shoots for three of the songs), and over N50 million worth of prizes which include a N30 million cash prize and a brand new SUV.
The prizes include a BIGI-branded refrigerator and one year supply of BIGI soft drinks from Rites Food Limited, an all-expense paid trip to Seychelles and a wide range of TECNO products, a weekend getaway package to Dubai for two from TravelBeta and a DStv Explora fully installed with a 12-month DStv Premium subscription package. It’s all on the line!

But the winner won’t be the only one to walk away with all the goodies. The first runner-up in the competition will be given the gift of a single produced by a leading music producer in Nigeria and an industry standard music video.

The fate of the two finalists – Francis and Kingdom – depend on the results of the voting round which ended on Thursday, 8 July.
Kingdom has wowed many this season with his exceptional voice control and his composure. Irrespective of the stiff competition he has faced all season long, he has managed to stay afloat for this final chapter that loom before us.

Up against Kingdom is the irrepressible Francis who brought TVs to life with his charisma and sensational singing. With his spell-binding vocal riffs and his richly deep textured voice, it is no surprise he has gotten this far.

There’s no telling what will happen tonight, but we are all guaranteed some good music and a truck load of drama. Tune in!
