MISTA BOOKS BAGS PRESENTER ROLE IN AFOREVO TV AND HE IS TERRIFIC IN IT

By Ayotunde Olumilua

Musicians branching out into other areas of the arts is no new feat. You don’t need an MA in mass communication so to sit in front of a camera and compel your audience.

Some people just have an innate ability to prove their worth in the spotlight.
The latest artist to make an interesting career detour is rapper Mista Books who recently got a role on Aforevo TV as host of a rap-centric segment.

The segment features cyphers and interviews from rap personas past and present. As expected, Mista Books’ presence and charisma is hard to resist as he moderates the show and strings all its elements together.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Mista Books is a promising musician and producer who grew up in Newark, Jersey with his mum before returning to Nigeria. He Studied Mass Communication, Journalism, Multi-Media, Art, Design (so he’s not new to the media, he just chose rap instead). He began hip-hop music when he was 15 years old.

He has worked with well-known artists in Nigeria and abroad: Modenine, YQ, Ikechukwu, African Rockstar, Illbliss, Phyno, Runtown, etc. He has myriads of mix-tapes and singles to his name.

So far, two of his most remarkable interviews include the ones with TRex Dah Wordsmith and Vector. TRex is no stranger to rap world. A native of Onitcha-O
lona of Aniocha local Government in Delta State.

The third of four children, he claims to have a younger brother who is equally immersed in music — an attribute he believes was handed over through many generations. He is known for his ability to freestyle for hours, his storytelling skills, and his unique ability to deliver when it matters most.

On the other hand, Vector needs no introduction. As one of the most enduring rap names in the last decade, Vector is undoubtedly a hip-hop legend in his own right.
Even though this detour into a presentation is much welcome, this surely won’t mean we’ll be hearing the last of Mista Books rocking the mic.

Whether he’s doing brag raps or pondering on society, he always tries to pass a message through sounds. According to the man himself, his music is more than the artistic merit it has. He is on a mission to change Nigeria in the way he knows how to.

The essence of delving into music is all about passing a message to the masses. I see a whole lot happening in my country, socio-political, economic and religious crisis.

More grease, Mista Books
