Love is in the air, and we love the sweet aroma it has graced our senses with. Why? Because Adekunle Gold surprised his wife Simi with a lovely gesture we can’t stop grinning at.
Simi recently celebrated her birthday, and her husband Adekunle Gold surprised her with a birthday cake during the Nigerian Idol show that aired on Sunday. The two shared an intimate moment to the admiration of the audience and viewers watching at home.
Adekunle celebrated his wife on Instagram with a heart-warming message to mark her day. He wrote:
“My angel from above
You’ve given me something special. Simi, you’re my favorite sign. It must be the reason why we align
You’re perfect and that’s facts.
Pretty Pretty face and you don’t brag. Baby, take my card buy yourself a new bag. “Happy Birthday Magic” Simi replied with an equally love-laced post:
“I married the best lyricist from Ikotun to the world. I‘m the winner. I love you most of all baby. Thank you. Na me dey do betday na me still dey write epistle.”
The concept of a power couple is one that has generated a buzz in the past decade or two. From Beyoncé and Jay-Z to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, power couples ruled global headlines and garnered admirers.
Being a power couple became a thing to aspire to be. In Nigeria, power couples are starting to spring up by the numbers. We recently covered the engagement story of musician Mr Eazi and billionaire heiress Temi Otedola. But before them, there was the love story of Adekunle Gold and Simi who got married in 2019.
Simi and Adekunle’s relationship was one of the best kept secrets in Nigeria’s entertainment industry before it came to undisputable light in 2019.
They had known each other since 2014. Last year, Adekunle Gold gave a detailed account of their first date:
“I look back to the first day I met you. I had just left the office, so excited that you had finally given me the audience to see you. This local boy put on a white BYC vest and a pair of new lilac pants bought specially for the occasion; I even made sure I was there earlier so I had front row seats.
“I watched you talk, sing, laugh and dance and Omo I knew that very day that I wanted to be in your life. I knew that day that I wanted my forever to be you.”
Over the years, the couple have had a productive professional and marital union that has produced several albums and a lovely baby girl.
Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a fruitful journey that will last for years to come. Everyone at Africamusiconline wishes Simi a very happy birthday in arrears!
